Technical Stuff: HDR from 1 RAW photo. F/6.3, 1/250 shutter, 500 ISO

I never have a chance to try people photography really, but I finally got my girlfriend to try some shots for me. _{I have no idea what I'm doing.}

Anyway, taken at Hargus Lake on a trail. I'm not sure how this will go over here...

I would say you got it quite well, the only areas that I think need attention are the highlights on the right of her head and neck...they are blown-out and perhaps that is too harsh a contrast to the rest of the skin tones.

Like the dappled light and mono portraits are always the best, in my opinion...but be careful with HDR not to overdo it on skin tones, hair, etc.

Pretty girl, she has lovely eyes.

I'm normally not a fan of HDR, but when I do I try really hard to not overdo it (it's so easy to do it though). Would you say this one was overdone, or within a good region?
